Who Says We Have to Grow Up?

Listen, no matter how serious we have to be as adults, we can all remember the time we scraped our knee falling off of a bike or thinking hopping a fence was the most rebellious thing you can do. We may have grown up, but that doesn’t mean that our imagination has to diminish. I have fell guilty of stressing to the point of no return and neglected having fun. As a survivor of the imprisonment brought to you by our good friend reality, I feel like I should share the most obvious piece of wisdom through a Wiz Khlifa quote that reads: “work hard, play hard”. Take Napoleon (pictured above) for example. He has the stress of school, getting bullied by his Uncle Rico, and the stress of the school showcase in which he does a beautiful rendition of the Jamiroquai song “Canned Heat”. Nevertheless, this busy boy finds the time to ride bikes and hang out with his comrade Pedro. Find your Pedro and go ride those bikes!

What Have I Been Doing To Let Loose My Inner Child?

I live just outside the heart of Downtown Austin, one of the youngest areas in the country. Yes, I may have just found out that I am balding at 20, but that doesn’t mean that I am forgetting how to be young. I have never been one to hop in the party scene (I hope you’re reading this Mom and Dad), but I do find a lot of things to do in this lively city.

FOOD

It may sound very #Adult to go out to eat with friends, but I don’t see it that way. Have you ever been to Friendly’s? I truly never enjoyed the food, but I always enjoyed the atmosphere and of course, the Sundaes. That’s exactly what I love about going out to eat; it gives you a chance to disconnect from the professional and academic world and just laugh and have a good time. You can check out some of the restaurants I’ve been around to in the EATS section of my page. ๐Ÿ™‚

Comedy

Speaking of laughing and having a good time, I am a sucker for comedy. Yes, I might base 80% of my humor off of Saturday Night Live, but I am always open to new comedy. Think about the uncontrollable laughter you belted out as you sat in front of the TV on Saturday mornings watching some of the funniest cartoons. That’s what we are trying to recreate here guys, gals, and no-binary pals. If you find yourself in the Austin Area, I whole-heartedly recommend ColdTowne Theater!

Arcades

This one doesn’t really need an explanation, really. I love games, usually not of the video type per say. I am a killer Pinball player and a Foosball champ (my biggest flex). Anywhere there is game to be played, I will be there. One of my favorite places is Pinballz Arcade. Yes, they have Pinball. Yes, they have Pac-Man. And yes, they even have go-karts! This is truly the place to go if you want a major rewind.

This pretty much sums up a how-to on how I like to trigger some nostalgia. Unfortunately, school has taken up a lot of my time, but that’s okay as long as I’m still making the effort to disconnect from it! An effort is all you should be shooting for. Again, as the wise philosopher Wiz Khalifa once said “work hard, play hard”.
